taking the leap

I’m very excited about something!

In a little over a week, I'll be going to St. Petersburg, Russia for a writing seminar.

Now, I have been thinking about taking this trip for the last three years.

But each year when it got to be the time to make a decision whether to sign up to attend or wait another year, I did exactly what I
caution my clients not to do...

...I rationalized that it would be more practical for me to wait another year.  After all, another year would give me the time to prepare myself, marshal the resources I felt I needed and somehow miraculously be truly ready to take such a big trip.

But this year, I chose to do things a little differently.

About a month before I had to make the decision, I began to prepare for the trip.

I put up pictures, began to visualize, bought a guidebook, started to learn the language.  And I asked the Universe (my higher consciousness) for a clear path to my destination.

And then, as if by magic…nothing happened.

The deadline inched closer.  It was down to a few days away.

I was at the point where throwing in the towel seemed the next logical step.  It would be like every other year…and so many other times when things just didn’t work out.

Except for one thing.  By this time, through my practice of the Law of Attraction principles, my visioning and preparing as if I were definitely going to go, I had developed a certainty of purpose.  I had impressed upon the Universe my absolute intent, my resolve to make the trip.

My faith persisted in spite of outward appearances.

And then, right before the deadline, a series of events unfolded so as to create that clear path I had asked for.  I even received a nice discount on the seminar. 

And I knew I had to move fast, even though there were still some loose ends.

But once I made the commitment, even more support and assistance began to make its way to me.

Opportunities began to flow to me.  My business picked up nicely to help me take care of the extra expenses.  Someone even showed up to house sit for me at the precise time I will be gone.

I share this experience as an illustration of the power of the Law of Attraction, and how impressing your desires on the Universe in this way will cause them to manifest.

What became clear to me as these events unfolded was that everything hinged on my faith that I was receiving what I asked for.

Too often, we lose faith and give up because outward appearances do not give the impression that it’s “working”.

But rest assured, if you have a strong vision and you have impressed it on the Universe (your higher consciousness) and you continue to have faith, stay in your vision and work toward that vision in spite of external appearances…It’s happening now!
